Chris Abele is helping Milwaukee workers get the skills they need to land better paying jobs. He invested in UpLift MKE, a partnership with Milwaukee Area Workforce Investment Board (MAWIB), to provide opportunity, training and support to residents in Milwaukee’s most distressed neighborhoods.
Milwaukee County has been a catalyst for this investment. This project’s goal is to bring jobs to people who need them the most. This partnership will train employees in the end-use jobs that are expected to be part of Milwaukee’s renaissance. The Milwaukee Bucks was the first employer to sign on with a commitment to share job projections, advertise open positions with MAWIB and interview trained and qualified MAWIB job candidates.
